Zipping around on my bicycle, I sometimes come upon a cluster of teenage boys with their motorcycles congregating out in the middle of nowhere. I wonder what they're doing. Sure, ya baa transactions crosses my mind. We exchange leery looks and cautious smiles, and I'm soon on my way. In general, I'm not that friendly to late teen boys. I'm always worried that familiarity will breed contempt. I worry about burglaries, so I like to keep them guessing, wondering whether the aloof farang might have a gun permit. But I wish I could get to know them better. With that said, I have to say, I'm envious as hell. What must it be like to be a 12th grader or a freshman college student surrounded by these gorgeous co-ed girls?

Every Thai person has a first name and a nickname aka chue len. Parents give their children a chue len in addition to a formal given name. Informal names begin at birth and may continue in use to the extent that one may have to check the legal registration to find the formal given name. Occasionally, the chue len is a shortened version of the first name, but more often it is completely unrelated. The first name is used only in formal situation, or outside personal life; for example during business transactions. In informal cases, the chue len is commonly used and even used to introduce oneself to a new friend. Though rare, sometimes Thai children are given nicknames after the order in which they were born into the family i. Nicknames may be bestowed upon a child based on the interests, hobbies, likes or occupations of their parents or a variety of other reasons. Nicknames are useful because official Thai names are often long, particularly among Thais of Chinese descent, whose lengthy surnames stem from an attempt to translate Chinese names into Thai equivalents, or similarly lengthy Sanskrit-derived names.

Loosly translated as "fat" baby as Thais generally get their nicknames shortly after birth. I was given Tiw pronounced teeeuuuw.
Please don't take it the wrong way if he says that a few minutes on the phone is more than he can handle. We also had to move several times now and will move few more times. I don't want to advocate manipulation but asking questions concerning Joseph's dishonesty about polygamy to his first wife and his marriage of other men's wives and marriage of a 14 year old may prove more fruitful than just saying wow polygamy is messed up. Or get them met elsewhere. The pressure is mounting for Mormon women to cave in to Western degeneracy, and men are at a loss for what to do about it.
